Canoe riding

Canoe trips are a great way to escape the hustle and bustle city life. Canoeing trips are best for enjoying the raw beauty of nature and include numerous stops for small side hikes, swimming, wildlife viewing, photography, or just stopping to enjoy the scenery. The Canoeing trips will allow you to submerse your paddle in the water for a calm lake exploration of some of the best scenic rivers nature has to offer while peacefully paddling in your canoe. For the country with both the biggest and the deepest lake in Africa, Tanzania visitors have relatively little opportunity for canoeing safaris. The only areas where game viewing can be done from a canoe are in Arusha National Park and in Lake Manyara National Park (water level permitted). This is all canoeing on lakes, not rivers and the safaris are no longer than 3-hours.

Lake Manyara

Stretching for 50km along the base of the rusty-gold 600-metre high Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a scenic gem, with a setting extolled by Ernest Hemingway as “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”.

The compact game-viewing circuit through Manyara offers a virtual microcosm of the Tanzanian safari experience.

Standing high on the edge of a towering terracotta escarpment with panoramic views over the glittering alkaline waters of Lake Manyara, Kilimanjaro Nature Tours offers a unique blend of safari opportunities, peace and tranquillity, wildlife discovery, and ornithological richness. The unprecedented range of high-adventure sports, meanwhile, include mountain biking, canoeing and forest walks, while cultural choices include tours of the neighboring villages and dance displays by the local people.
