Day 1: Arrval to Kilimanjaro Airport, Arusha
Today you will begin your journey by boarding your international outbound flight to Kilimanjaro Airport. On arrival into Kilimanjaro Airport you will be met and transferred to the leafy suburbs of Arusha to relax after your flights. Enjoy beautiful views of Mount Meru and the surrounding green hillsides from your boutique lodge overlooking the town.

Day 2: Arusha , Tarangire National Park
After breakfast you will set off for Tarangire National Park, a lovely scenic drive, heading towards the Great Rift Valley Escarpment. You will have time for a picnic lunch in the park and a game drive before you head to your camp in the evening.

Day 3: Tarangire National Park
On safari in Tarangire National Park – you will spend today exploring this very pretty park famous for its huge herds of elephant. Excursions on offer from Swala Camp include night drives and walking safaris – both of which offer a very different perspective to the regular game drives and if time allows we would recommend you experience both. The landscapes in Tarangire vary between open plains, swamps, majestic baobab trees and riverine forest, with the dramatic Ol Doinyo Lengai volcanoes providing a stunning backdrop in the distance.

Day 4: Tarangire National Park , Lake Manyara National Park , Ngorongoro Conservation Area
This morning you will set off with your driver-guide for Lake Manyara National Park, where you can enjoy game-drives for the day. You will take a picnic lunch with you to enjoy at midday and can spend your time exploring this small but beautiful national park. The flamingos on the lake are a classic East African sight. You will leave the park in the afternoon and be driven up the Rift Valley escarpment and into the Ngorongoro Highlands where you will spend the next three nights overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater at the amazing Ngorongoro Crater Lodge.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
You will have a day of game viewing in Ngorongoro Crater today. Reaching the floor of the crater, you’ll have time to explore before stopping for a picnic lunch to enjoy at midday. There are currently some resident black rhinos that you may well be lucky enough to see along with large prides of lion, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo and hyena.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Today you will visit Olduvai Gorge – the cradle of humanity. Olduvai Gorge is famous for some of the most famous and influential prehistoric discoveries in the canyon walls. The gorge is about 90 metres deep and in its walls you will find many fossils. Archaeologists have been working here since Mary and Louis Leakey arrived in 1931. There is a museum and there are guides on hand to give you a tour around the area. This is a fascinating experience and highlights a very important area in Tanzania which is not visited by most safari goers.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Conservation Area , Lake Manyara, Serengeti National Park
This morning you will be taken to the airstrip for your light aircraft to The Serengeti National Park. On arrival in the park you will be greeted by your guide from Namiri Plains camp. Namiri Plains is located where the southern short grass plains meet the acacia woodland. The Ngare Nanyuki underground river creates pockets of permanent water that support year-round concentrations of wildlife. With easy prey available throughout the year there is more than enough big cat activity here and the dramatic rocky outcrops that dot the plains serve as excellent observation points for cheetah, lion and leopard on the lookout for prey – the perfect place for those looking to see the cats of the Serengeti.

Day 8: Serengeti National Park
You have a full day of excursions from Namiri Plains today enjoying morning and afternoon game drives from the camp. Away from the big cats, the birdlife in the Serengeti is also spectacular, with a variety of different bustards, colourful lilac-breasted rollers and superb starlings offering some lovely sightings.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park
Today you will leave the Namiri Plains area and fly by light aircraft to the north of the Serengeti, an exclusive area with amazing game viewing opportunities. You will fly from Namiri Plains in the morning so you will arrive in plenty of time to settle into your room, enjoy some lunch and head out on your afternoon safari excursion.

Day 10: Serengeti National Park
Today you can enjoy a full day on safari from Sayari camp. You are usually woken up in the morning with tea and coffee before heading out in to the park to get the best possible game viewing. You will return to the camp for lunch and an afternoon siesta before heading out again in the afternoon for another game drive. The drives usually last around three hours but this does depend on what unfolds on your drive and what wildlife you see. You could even chat with your guide and organize a packed picnic lunch and head out for a full day to explore further afield – the perfect way to end your safari in Tanzania!

Day 11: Departure
This morning you will be taken to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Kilimanjaro Airport and your onward flights. Your return flight will arrive the same day.
